Guest Lecture 3in1 Program “A Multimodality Analysis in Book Authoring for Education Setting” by Dr. Nur Arifah Drajati, M.Pd. (UNS)

Wednesday (27/10/2021) Master’s Programme in Linguistics, Faculty of Cultural Studies Universitas Brawijaya held a guest lecture with the topic “A Multimodality Analysis in Book Authoring for Education Settings” with Dr. Nur Arifah Drajati, M.Pd. She is on the board of the TEFLIN Professional Association Teacher Professional Development Division and Permanent Lecturer at the English Study Program at the Department of Language and Arts, Sebelas Maret University (UNS), in Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia.

There are 3 important points conveyed by the speaker. The material provided is the Best Practice of the application of Multimodality in the preparation of teaching materials. The first material is about the basic concept of Multimodality and how it relates to the Social Semiotic Approach. Furthermore, the presenter entered the session to share his experiences when compiling and managing the Book Project on the basis of Multimodality with teachers and lecturers throughout Indonesia. She conveyed the process in assisting the preparation of multimodality-based textbooks. Furthermore, he conveyed about the benefits and changes in learning patterns for those who use multimodality-based teaching materials. The material session was then followed by a discussion session and question and answer session with the activity participants.
